    Chinese artist Cong Yunfeng launched works in London to speak for cultural relics lost overseas

    "I believe that art has the power to change and influence things and hopefully my work does too," an up-and-coming Chinese artist Cong Yunfeng told the Global Times recently. His mural works, Conversion of the Five Hundreds Bandits, as the strongly response to the controversial blockbuster exhibition, China's hidden century, which took placed at the British Museum until October 8.

    Yu Hong's first solo exhibition in North America "Night Walk" opened on September 21 at the Savannah College of Art and Design Art Museum

    In Night Walk, preeminent painter Yu Hong weaves together her personal experiences and memories with significant collective shifts in contemporary China, portraying epochal transformation within sprawling compositions. In six large-scale, richly detailed paintings and three small studies of hands, Yu Hong evokes classical art historical motifs drawn from a variety of sources, including Théodore Géricault’s The Raft of the Medusa (1818–19), Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s The Blind Leading the Blind (1568), Edvard Munch’s The Scream (1893), El Greco’s The Crucifixion (1597–1600), and others, as well as traditional Chinese painting tropes from the culture’s many-centuries-long heritage.

    On September 17, 2023, the "Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) Series White Papers" press release was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi.     On the afternoon of September 15, 2023, the "Ocean Sensors - Ocean-themed Popular Science Art Exhibition" opened at CAFA Museum. The exhibition was jointly organized by the School of Experimental Art and Sci-Tech Art and  the Institute of Science and Technology Arts of CAFA, the National Key Laboratory of Nearshore Marine Environmental Science, Xiamen University College of Ocean and Earth Sciences, Xiamen University College of the Environment and Ecology, Xiamen University Research Vessel Operation Management Center, Fujian-Taiwan Strait Marine Ecosystem National Field Science Observation Research Station, and 70.8 Ocean Media Laboratory.

    On the afternoon of September 11, Professor Frédéric Ogée from Université Paris Cité gave the lecture “Sociability and Portraiture in British Art from William Hogarth to Thomas Lawrence, 1730-1830” at the Red Chair Hall. Professor Ogée is a renowned scholar in the field of eighteenth-century British literature and art. The lecture, an event of the “Liberal Arts Lecture Hall” series of the School of Humanities, was hosted by Zheng Yikan, with Han Ying as coordinator and Xie Tao as interpreter.
