    Xu Yang meets the delegation of KEDGE Business School

    On October 18, 2024, Professor Elisabetta Magnaghi, Vice President of KEDGE Business School in France, and her delegation visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). Xu Yang, Secretary of the Party Committee of CAFA, received the guests and held in-depth discussions on topics including discipline development, deepening cooperation, and Sino-French cultural and artistic exchanges.     On October 11, the first teammate mascot of TEAM CHINA/China's National Team was officially unveiled. The design was created by a team led by Professor Lin Cunzhen, Vice Dean of the School of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

    Exhibition | Dimensions indefinitely Variable: Sui Jianguo 1974-2024

    Recently, the large-scale retrospective exhibition “Dimensions indefinitely Variable: Sui Jianguo 1974-2024” by renowned sculptor and professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Sui Jianguo, opened at the Tag Art Museum. This exhibition, held in the artist’s hometown of Qingdao, showcases his growth and development over the past 50 years, from 1974 to 2024. By integrating both indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces, over 280 works (including groups of works) by the artist are displayed, along with seven series of documentary collections. Additionally, three sets of works are being exhibited for the first time. This large-scale artist case study serves as an exploration of the development history of contemporary Chinese sculpture. Lin Mao, President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, attended the exhibition's opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

    Solo Exhibition | Huang Keyi: "Inner Landscape"

    On September 25, Huang Keyi's solo exhibition "Inner Landscape" opened at the IOMA Art Center in Sanlitun, Beijing. The exhibition features two series, "Mountain" and "Fruit," showcasing the artist's latest paintings created from 2023 to 2024, along with sculptures, videos, and 3D printed installations. It explores the mutual generation between individual experiences and the natural world, as well as the infinite possibilities of bodily reconstruction after escaping external production mechanisms. The exhibition will run until October 19.

    "Print Art: Chinese Youth Printmaking Exhibition from an International Perspective" Debuts at the Royal Academy of Art in the Netherlands

    Recently, the China Printmaking Museum and the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts jointly hosted the "Print Art: Chinese Youth Printmaking Exhibition from an International Perspective" at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands. Professor Kong Liang, head of the Printmaking Department, and Professor Kang Jianfei, the exhibition curator, represented the Chinese artists in their speeches, while Dutch painter Eduardus Antonius Van Der Kooij, president of the Royal Academy, spoke on behalf of the venue.

    Eslite Gallery presents Liu Xiaodong's latest solo exhibition in Beijing

    Born in Liaoning province, Liu Xiaodong has been traveling around the world for nearly three decades, observing and depicting a variety of real and ordinary people. Austere and natural, his works provide a powerful insight into reality, showcasing the original vitality of painting. The painting series on display, despite being on canvas or paper, are not bound by them; instead, they stretch out and form a three-dimensional expression. Unlike the general pursuit of ideology and the imitation of Western modernist painting by Chinese artists since the 1980s, Liu has brought Chinese art back to reality with his “realistic oil paintings”.

    Art Students from China and Abroad Walk Together on the "Silk Road"

    In July 2024, the "Perceiving China: Art Education Journey West" social practice group from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) embarked on a social practice activity in Gansu. Organized jointly by the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and the university’s Youth League Committee, this social practice group was comprised of students from various departments and international students. They left their footprints of "Perceiving China" in cities like Lanzhou, Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiayuguan, and Dunhuang. Along the way, they deepened their understanding of the geographical environment, history, and cultural heritage of China's northwestern region, bridging the "East and West" and engaging in cultural exchanges.
