On October 18, the unveiling ceremony for The Spirit of Hami, a site-specific public art project created by the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), was held at the square in front of Hami Railway Station in Xinjiang. On the same day, the symposium Urban Public Art and Urban Renewal was also convened.

On September 19, 2025, the UNFRAMED Contemporary Art Exhibition officially opened at Bastione del Parlascio, a historic building in Pisa, Italy. Hosted by the Pisa Municipal Tourism and Commerce Bureau, supported by the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) of China and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze as academic organizers, the exhibition is co-organized by the cultural organization EstOvestEst-APS and OEOITALIA. The exhibition is co-sponsored by le Farmacie Comunali (Pisa Municipal Pharmacies), Acque SpA (Tuscany Water Service Joint-Stock Company), and the Italian Chinese Enterprise Association.

CAFA Art Museum presents “OBJECT, TELEPATHY, FORMS: New Sculptural Works by Du Yingqi”, which wraps up the third phrase of “EXPAND + CURATE: YOUNG EXPERIMENT PROJECT SPACE” at its Gallery 3C. The exhibition is academically advised by Prof. Zhang Wei, Dean of CAFA Department of Sculpture and curated by Dr. Li Mingwei from CAFA Department of Sculpture.

Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War, “A Heroic Ode to China — A Retrospective Exhibition of Xu Xingzhi’s Artistic Achievements” was jointly organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the China Artists Association. Featuring over 400 exhibits, it reviews the oeuvre of Prof. Xu Xingzhi by showcasing his artistic achievements covering films, paintings, literature, theater, and art theory.

Few product designs have the staying power of creations by Dieter Rams(1932-), an industrial designer and head of design at Braun, the German consumer electronics manufacturer. Almost everything produced by this most influential designer of the late twentieth century is today considered a classic, as he defines an elegant, legible, yet rigorous visual language for product design.

On September 14, CAFAM unveiled “Energy and Civilization: Science & Art · Fusion Future”, the first museum-level exhibition themed on “controllable nuclear fusion” in China. Jointly launched by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Institute of Energy of Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, and the Hefei Municipal People’s Government, the exhibition brings together top scientists in the field of nuclear fusion and leading figures in the art circle.

China concluded its V-Day commemorations on September 3, and a massive military parade was held at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing as part of commemorations on the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War, pledging to pursue a path of peaceful development in a world fraught with turbulence and uncertainty.

On August 12, 2025, the China-Japan-ROK Forum on Culture, Arts and Education was successfully held in Huzhou city,Zhejiang Province. This forum, an important international cultural exchange event, was hosted by the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, academically supported by the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), and organized by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. As the academic support unit, CAFA deeply participated in all aspects of the forum, making significant contributions to advancing cultural and artistic education exchanges and cooperation among the three countries.

Artists from our academy were invited to participate in the “New Perspectives: China-Laos Youth Artists Exchange Exhibition” co-hosted by the China Cultural Center in Laos and the Center for China International Cultural Exchange.

On July 9 (local time), 500 Brushstrokes: An Abstract Portrait of Peru ("500 TRAZOS: UN RETRATO ABSTRACTO DEL PERÚ") officially opened at the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI), Peru’s foremost art museum. As Wu Jian’an’s first solo exhibition in South America, the show centers on the artist’s latest monumental work from 2024–2025: 500 Brushstrokes for Peru, a 12-meter-long and 5-meter-high ink and mixed-media paper-cut collage. The work brings together the bodily traces of 459 residents of Peru from diverse backgrounds—spanning gender, age, class, geography, language, and culture.

CAFA Art Museum unveiled “Interflowing Artscapes: CAFAM International Exchange Research Exhibition from the Collection” on July 18, 2025 in Beijing. A total of 244 (sets) works by over 133 international artists selected from the Collection of CAFAM are open to the public for the first time. The exhibition project was selected as one of 2025 National Exhibition Season of Art Museums’ Brilliant Collections Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The opening ceremony of “PARALLELS: LEGACIES IN FLUX” was unveiled on the afternoon of July 11, 2025, at Ubud Art Ground in Bali. Invited by the Satya Djaya Raya Foundation, the exhibition was co-curated by Professor Qiu Ting, Dean of the School of Chinese Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Farah Wardani (Indonesia), aiming to foster cross-cultural and intergenerational artistic collaboration while reinterpreting distinct visual cultural heritages.

On June 13, 2025, “Space-Time Layer: CAFAM Collection of Graduate Works Exhibition” had a grand opening ceremony at the Fuminli New Cultural District in Zhengzhou.

2025 CAFA Graduation Season Phase C Undergraduate Students Exhibition Unfolded on June 8

The unique charm of May 20th symbolizes a contemporary Chinese Valentine’s Day, deeply rooted in the phonetic resemblance between the numbers “5-2-0” (wǔ èr líng, 五二零) and the phrase “I love you” (wǒ ài nǐ, 我爱你) in Mandarin. This playful similarity turned May 20th into a meaningful occasion to express love and affection.

Recently, the "101 Wishes: Exhibition of the Beauty of Chinese Characters" was held in Cape Town, South Africa and Venice, Italy respectively. Featuring over 20 pieces/groups artworks, the exhibition traces the origin, evolution, and contemporary artistic reinterpretations of Chinese characters.

Recently, at the inaugural China–Central Asia Education Ministers’ Meeting held in Urumqi, Xinjiang, the new visual identity of the “Study in China” brand and its integrated service platform for international students was officially launched to a global audience.

On May 13, in recognition of President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and artist Lin Mao's outstanding contributions to cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Russia over the years—as well as his tireless spirit of exploration, distinctive artistic style, and remarkable achievements in his personal artistic practice—the Russian Academy of Arts awarded him the title of Honorary Academician.

Recently, the "Light and Rhythm Reimagined: Sino-French Contemporary Design Schools Exchange Exhibition", organized by the School of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), opened at the National Institute of Gemology in Paris.
