    CAFA Promoting Cultural and Artistic Education Exchanges and Cooperation Among China, Japan, and ROK

    On August 12, 2025, the China-Japan-ROK Forum on Culture, Arts and Education was successfully held in Huzhou city,Zhejiang Province. This forum, an important international cultural exchange event, was hosted by the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, academically supported by the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), and organized by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. As the academic support unit, CAFA deeply participated in all aspects of the forum, making significant contributions to advancing cultural and artistic education exchanges and cooperation among the three countries.

    Wu Jian'an's First Solo Exhibition in South America Opens in Peru: Participants from Across the Country Reunite in 500 Brushstrokes: An Abstract Portrait

    On July 9 (local time), 500 Brushstrokes: An Abstract Portrait of Peru ("500 TRAZOS: UN RETRATO ABSTRACTO DEL PERÚ") officially opened at the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI), Peru’s foremost art museum. As Wu Jian’an’s first solo exhibition in South America, the show centers on the artist’s latest monumental work from 2024–2025: 500 Brushstrokes for Peru, a 12-meter-long and 5-meter-high ink and mixed-media paper-cut collage. The work brings together the bodily traces of 459 residents of Peru from diverse backgrounds—spanning gender, age, class, geography, language, and culture.

    CAFAM presents “Interflowing Artscapes” featuring global artistic resonance and China refracted visions

    CAFA Art Museum unveiled “Interflowing Artscapes: CAFAM International Exchange Research Exhibition from the Collection” on July 18, 2025 in Beijing. A total of 244 (sets) works by over 133 international artists selected from the Collection of CAFAM are open to the public for the first time. The exhibition project was selected as one of 2025 National Exhibition Season of Art Museums’ Brilliant Collections Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

    The opening ceremony of “PARALLELS: LEGACIES IN FLUX” was unveiled on the afternoon of July 11, 2025, at Ubud Art Ground in Bali. Invited by the Satya Djaya Raya Foundation, the exhibition was co-curated by Professor Qiu Ting, Dean of the School of Chinese Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Farah Wardani (Indonesia), aiming to foster cross-cultural and intergenerational artistic collaboration while reinterpreting distinct visual cultural heritages.

    The unique charm of May 20th symbolizes a contemporary Chinese Valentine’s Day, deeply rooted in the phonetic resemblance between the numbers “5-2-0” (wǔ èr líng, 五二零) and the phrase “I love you” (wǒ ài nǐ, 我爱你) in Mandarin. This playful similarity turned May 20th into a meaningful occasion to express love and affection.

    On May 13, in recognition of President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and artist Lin Mao's outstanding contributions to cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Russia over the years—as well as his tireless spirit of exploration, distinctive artistic style, and remarkable achievements in his personal artistic practice—the Russian Academy of Arts awarded him the title of Honorary Academician.

    On April 30, 2025, the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Academy of Fine Arts and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was held at the Creative Technology R&D Center (Beijing) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Witnessed by Lin Mao, President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Lü Pinjing, Vice President of CAFA, Lam Tai-fai, Chairman of the Council of PolyU, and Zhao Ruheng, Vice President of PolyU, the memorandum was signed by Professor Wang Chuan, Director of the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs at CAFA, and Professor Li Kinjap, Dean of the School of Design at PolyU, marking a new chapter in deepening cooperation in the fields of art and design.

    The online booking system for the 2025 CAFA Graduation Season has been opened. Visitors can make reservations and purchase tickets through the WeChat account or homepage of CAFA Art Museum (instructions can be found at https://www.cafamuseum.org/). CAFA Art Museum has a quota on daily visit. It will be open on Mondays during the graduation season.

    Poughkeepsie, NY — The Trolley Barn Gallery at the Hudson Valley Arts Center proudly presents NEXUS: A Transcultural Printmaking Exchange, a landmark exhibition featuring works by leading printmaking faculty from China and New York State.
