CAFA and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Sign Memorandum of Understanding

On April 30, 2025, the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Academy of Fine Arts and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was held at the Creative Technology R&D Center (Beijing) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Witnessed by Lin Mao, President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Lü Pinjing, Vice President of CAFA, Lam Tai-fai, Chairman of the Council of PolyU, and Zhao Ruheng, Vice President of PolyU, the memorandum was signed by Professor Wang Chuan, Director of the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs at CAFA, and Professor Li Kinjap, Dean of the School of Design at PolyU, marking a new chapter in deepening cooperation in the fields of art and design.

Previously, CAFA and PolyU’s School of Design had engaged in multiple in-depth and productive exchanges and discussions on innovative educational models integrating art and technology. Their collaboration has sparked numerous creative ideas in areas such as exchanges between Beijing and Hong Kong, talent cultivation, and knowledge transformation.

On the same day, the unveiling ceremony for the Creative Technology R&D Center (Beijing) of PolyU was also held. Located in the newly developed Xingdi Center next to the 798 Art District in Chaoyang District, Beijing, the center is supported by Chaoyang District’s special development policy for the Internet 3.0 industry. Going forward, the two institutions will use the center as a bridge and base to jointly advance undergraduate and graduate-level collaborative education programs. This will offer students from both institutions more diversified learning opportunities and richer practical resources, fostering integrated development across industry, academia, and research in the fields of art and technology in both Beijing and Hong Kong.

The event was also attended by Wang Shu, Director of the Development Planning Office of CAFA; Yu Yang, Director of the Research Office; Tang Hui, Head of the Department of Mural Painting; Feng Mengbo, Dean of the School of Experimental Art and Technology Art; Wang Ziyuan, Party Secretary of the School of Design; Wei Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee; and Yang Xi, Deputy Director of the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
