President of Dijon School of Fine Arts, Amel Nafti, Visits CAFA

On December 6, 2024, Ms. Amel Nafti, President of the Dijon School of Fine Arts in France, visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and held a meeting with President Lin Mao. The two sides engaged in a constructive dialogue on deepening cooperation and future development in the field of culture and arts between Chinese and French institutions.

President Lin Mao warmly welcomed President Amel Nafti and highly praised France's exceptional contributions to global culture, particularly the rich legacy left by artists from both countries in the history of Sino-French cultural exchange. Lin Mao provided a detailed introduction to CAFA, highlighting its achievements in art education, research innovation, and international exchanges in recent years. Emphasizing CAFA's broad international vision and profound academic foundation, he expressed a strong desire for deeper collaboration with the Dijon School of Fine Arts. Lin hopes that this exchange will serve as a bridge for Sino-French art education, fostering mutual understanding and the shared prosperity of the two nations' arts and culture.

President Amel Nafti expressed her heartfelt gratitude for CAFA's warm reception and reflected on the long history of artistic exchange between China and France. She provided an overview of the Dijon School of Fine Arts, emphasizing the growing importance of internationalization in art education amid the accelerating pace of globalization. Acknowledging CAFA's significant influence in international art education, Nafti shared the Dijon School’s successful experiences in innovative art education and cross-cultural exchange programs. She expressed great anticipation for collaboration with CAFA in areas such as student exchanges, faculty cooperation, joint exhibitions, and artistic creation.

Both parties agreed that future collaborations would go beyond student exchanges, encompassing joint workshops, shared online courses, and international student programs. These comprehensive and in-depth partnerships aim to provide broader learning opportunities for students from both countries while injecting new vitality into the deep integration of Chinese and French arts and culture.

After the meeting, President Nafti and her delegation were accompanied by Jin Jun, Director of the Art Museum, for a tour of the museum. The meeting was also attended by Wang Chuan, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Jin Jun, and Deputy Director of the Art Museum, Gao Gao.
