On November 28, 2024, the "China-UAE Art Community: Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of China-UAE Diplomatic Relations Youth Artist Creative Exhibition" opened at the Parkview Green Fangcaodi Parkview Contemporary Art Museum. Jointly organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), the UAE Embassy in China, and the Mohammed Gallery, the exhibition showcased over 150 artworks from students of CAFA, Zayed University College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, New York University Abu Dhabi Division of Arts and Humanities, and the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah. President Lin Mao of CAFA attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his remarks, President Lin highlighted that 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates. Over the years, the two nations have cultivated a deep friendship based on mutual respect and equality, achieving significant outcomes in building cultural exchange bridges under the Belt and Road Initiative. This exhibition, jointly planned by CAFA and the UAE Embassy in China, aims to promote exchange and cooperation among young artists from both countries, showcasing the unique cultural charms and shared artistic aspirations of both nations. He expressed hope that this event would strengthen friendships among young artists and provide a platform for shared creativity toward a brighter future.
Ambassador Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi stated in his address that the relationship between the UAE and China is as vibrant as an oasis in the desert. This dynamic partnership not only manifests in extensive economic cooperation but is also deeply rooted in cultural exchange between the two peoples. Art, as a universal language that transcends borders, serves as a bridge connecting hearts, enabling people from diverse cultural backgrounds to resonate with one another. This exhibition, a fruitful result of joint efforts, showcases the creativity and talent of young artists from CAFA and top art institutions in the UAE. It also represents the collision and fusion of the cultural essence and innovative spirit of both nations.
Mohammed Al Astad, Vice President of the Emirates Fine Arts Society and academic coordinator for the UAE side of the exhibition, expressed his admiration for the extraordinary talent and creativity of young artists from both countries as reflected in their works. He voiced his hopes for continued strengthening of artistic and cultural exchanges between China and the UAE in the future, creating an even more glorious shared future.
Afterward, the guests toured the exhibition and interacted with the participating students.
After closely viewing the artworks, President Lin offered heartfelt encouragement to the participants. He stated, "Standing here today, I am deeply moved by the unique perspectives, profound reflections, and exquisite techniques embodied in each piece. You are not only creators of art but also ambassadors of cultural exchange.
