The directors of the Prado Museum and the Cervantes Institute from Spain visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts

On April 25, 2024, Miguel Falomir Faus, Director of the Prado Museum in Spain, and Isabel Cervera Fernández, Director of the Cervantes Institute, visited the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China. Lin Mao, the President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, engaged in in-depth discussions with them regarding cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the West, as well as future cooperation.

 

President Lin Mao warmly welcomed the Spanish delegation and highly praised the outstanding contributions of the Prado Museum and the Cervantes Institute in the field of international cultural and artistic exchanges. He expressed that the Central Academy of Fine Arts has always been committed to promoting international cultural and artistic exchanges. He hoped to establish closer cooperation with the Prado Museum and the Cervantes Institute to jointly promote the training, promotion, and exchange of artistic talents, and advance cultural and artistic exchanges and integration between China and the West.

 

Director Miguel Falomir expressed gratitude for the warm reception at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and introduced the unique collections and academic research achievements of the Prado Museum. He expressed the hope that through cooperation with the Central Academy of Fine Arts, they could jointly organize exhibitions, conduct academic research, and facilitate mutual visits to allow more people to appreciate these artistic treasures.

 

Director Isabel Cervera also expressed appreciation for the Central Academy of Fine Arts and introduced the efforts and achievements of the Cervantes Institute in promoting Spanish culture. She hoped that both sides could further cooperate in cultural exchanges, educational collaborations, and other areas to build a stronger bridge of friendship between the peoples of China and Spain.

 

During the meeting, both parties discussed specific areas of future cooperation, including jointly organizing art exhibitions, conducting academic research collaborations, and exchanging visiting scholars. They expressed their commitment to using this meeting as an opportunity to further promote cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation between China and the West, making positive contributions to the prosperous development of cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries.

After the meeting, Director Miguel Falomir and Director Isabel Cervera visited the campus and art galleries. This meeting marked another significant exchange following the visit of Spanish Ambassador Marta Betanzos and her delegation to the Central Academy of Fine Arts on March 20, 2024. It signifies a deeper and closer phase of cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the West, laying a more solid foundation for future cooperation. Administrative leaders from relevant departments accompanied the visit.
