On the morning of December 7, 2023, Lin Mao, the Dean of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, held discussions with the visiting delegation, including the Ambassador of the Uruguayan Republic to China and the Dean of the School of Arts at the University of Uruguay. Both parties engaged in constructive dialogue regarding the deepening cooperation between universities in China and Uruguay in the field of culture and the arts.
Lin Mao warmly welcomed the visit of the Dean of the School of Arts at the University of Uruguay, expressing his love for Uruguayan culture and commending the historical roots of the friendly relationship between China and Uruguay. Dean Lin Mao introduced the rich history, comprehensive disciplinary system, and strong faculty of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He expressed a keen desire for deeper and broader exchanges between Chinese and Uruguayan universities in the future, hoping to set an example for artistic exchange and cooperation between China and South American countries.
Fernando Miranda, the Dean of the School of Arts at the University of Uruguay, expressed gratitude on behalf of Uruguay for the warm reception from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He reviewed the history of diplomatic relations between China and Uruguay and mentioned the increasing number of scholarship students between the two countries, foreseeing closer exchanges in the fields of culture and the arts in the future. Additionally, Fernando Miranda introduced the long history and rich research strength of the School of Arts at the University of Uruguay. He hoped that through collaboration with the Central Academy of Fine Arts, there would be further promotion of student exchanges and interactions between the two countries.
Ambassador Fernando Lugris of the Uruguayan Republic expressed appreciation for the warm reception of Uruguayan students by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and suggested the signing of a memorandum of understanding to ensure the concrete implementation of cooperation.
