Professor Wang Zikun
Copying (Línmó) is a crucial learning method in the inheritance and development of Chinese painting. Through close observation, appreciation, and hands-on practice, learners can study brushwork techniques while understanding and internalizing the unique qualities and spirit of Chinese painting. This workshop provided participants with classic landscape and bird-and-flower paintings in different styles, guided by faculty and students from the Chinese Painting Academy. Traditional attire, the elegant sound of the guqin, and Chinese paintings all share deep roots in traditional culture. Through the interplay and resonance of these elements, we hope this event brings participants a rich aesthetic experience.
Professor Jia Tianxue
This workshop invited participants to copy classic works of bird-and-flower and landscape paintings, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the charm of traditional culture and embark on a dialogue across time. In the process of learning Chinese painting, copying is an essential step—by replicating masterpieces, learners develop an understanding of painting techniques and artistic principles, gradually building their aesthetic sensibility before embarking on original creations. Dressed in Hanfu and accompanied by the melodious sounds of the guqin, participants immersed themselves in the exhibition space, experiencing a special artistic journey.
